January Big Board - a look at the 2015 NFL Draft.

The 2015 Draft is still a ways off, but scouts are starting to dig into each prospect's abilities, background (both on and off the field) and level of commitment to football.

We have updated our Big Board as some prospects have started to emerge as legitimate first round talents and other have begun to slide down the board.

With some new additions to the Big Board, most notably Phil Dawson (ILB, TCU) has emerged as a shining star that can no longer be ignored. A ferocious tackling machine, he is a bigger, faster version of NFL All-Pro Lavonte David. In addition to Dawson, Wake Forest defensive back Kevin Johnson has the length and long reach with the ability to lock down his side of the field. Watch for both these players' stocks to continue to rise as we get closer to the draft.

With a new leader at the top of our draft board, Leonard Williams (DE/DT, USC) has finally overtaken Oregon's Marcus Mariota for the top spot. Williams has the rare blend of speed, power, size, and talent that is rarely seen in interior defensive lineman coming out of college. He offers a tremendous amount of versatility to any defensive scheme.

In terms of quarterbacks Jameis Winston has overtaken Marcus Mariota for the top QB spot on the board. While Mariota is a tremendous athlete, he does have a number of question marks such as his ability to run an NFL style offense. He isn't asked to make a lot of NFL caliber throws, and NFL front offices are also worried about his ability to develop into a pocket passer. He has the speed to escape and there are times in games when he looks to run versus looking down the field for an open receiver. Winston has a number of question marks (both on and off the field) but his learning curve and ability to adjust to an NFL offense won't be as steep as the other quarterbacks in this class.

We had a few names drop off the board either to the prospects deciding to stay in school (Shilique Calhoun, Leonard Floyd) or players having a late season injury (Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Cedric Ogbuehi).

A lot will change between now and the first pick of the draft. As it stands now, this is my Top-32 Big Board. We will update the Big Board after we conclude the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine.
