The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that Brian Hoyer would begin the season as the starting quarterback.

After inconsistent play in the preseason and flipping the bird to the Redskins, first round pick Johnny Manziel will begin his professional career as a backup.

Despite starting on the bench, Manziel is the favorite (11/2) to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year. Sammy Watkins (6/1), Brandin Cooks (6/1), Bishop Sankey (8/1) and Jordan Matthews (10/1) round out the top five.

Johnny Football is also favored to win over fellow rookie quarterbacks Blake Bortles (20/1) and Teddy Bridgewater (12/1), though both young passers have looked more polished in their debuts.

Manziel is listed as the favorite because many believe he will get the starting nod in Week 5. Cleveland begins the season with games against Pittsburgh, New Orleans and Baltimore before a bye week.

We project Cleveland to lose all three games. An 0-3 start will have Browns' fans clamoring for the former Heisman winner to start.

Johnny Manziel – Will he start Week 5 vs. Tennessee?
Yes: +125
No: -175

Regardless of his antics and preseason performance, we project Manziel to be worth +12.9% to Cleveland's playoff chances over Brian Hoyer.
