Pacers vs. Heat
Indiana extended the Eastern Conference Finals with a dramatic 93-90 win in Game 5 against Miami. The Pacers erased a 42-33 halftime deficit by more than doubling up the Heat 31-15 in the third, but the Heat made it interesting late in the fourth. Had a few plays went Miami's way, the Heat could have punched their ticket to the NBA Finals.
Deflected ball leads to Indiana turnover, except it didn't
Following a Rashard Lewis three pointer to cut Indiana's lead to 91-90 with 0:16 left to play, Shane Battier attempts a steal on an inbounds pass. The ball is deflected and initially ruled off of Battier. However, the officials review the tape to confirm the call. The video is inconclusive, though most likely correct and the play stands. However, had the initial call been out on Paul George, Miami most likely retains possession.
In a one point game, with possession, Miami becomes the projected leader for the first time since the 4:04 mark in the third quarter.
Additional Game Note
The largest play-to-play swing occurred when Paul George made a three pointer with 0:46 left following Chris Bosh's three pointer to make it 88-87. George's three pointer gave Indiana a 91-87 lead and increased the Pacers odds of winning from 60 percent to 86 percent.
