    The World Cup is just days away. As soccer fans around the world wait with bated breath for the biggest sporting event on the planet, we preview the 2014 World Cup through the latest betting odds.

    Host country Brazil is a 3/1 favorite to win it all. The odds imply that the third team in the FIFA World Rankings has a 21 percent chance to win a record sixth World Cup.

    The USA is a long shot at 100/1. The Yanks got a tough draw being placed in the Group of Death with Germany, Portugal and World Cup nemesis Ghana.

    Brazilian striker and Barcelona star, Neymar, is a 7/1 favorite to win the Golden Ball – best player in the tournament.

    Lionel Messi is a 7/1 favorite to be the top goal scorer in the World Cup. Reigning World Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo is 12/1.

    There is a clear group of top contenders: Brazil (3/1), Argentina (4/1), Germany (11/2) and Spain (6/1). The odds imply that the top four teams combined have a 63 percent chance of winning the World Cup.
